The "South West Link" interconnects the power grid of the grid operators Svenska Kraftnät in Sweden and Statnett in Norway.
We developed the protocol stack RP 570, Slave for the project Barkeryd as part of the "South West Link".
The protocol conversion software is installed on available hardware running under Windows XP embedded.
The communication between the PACiS gateway of Schneider Electric and the ipConv gateway is done via IEC 60870-5-104 protocol.
The ipConv gateway controls data exchange with Svenska Kraftnät DC per IEC 60870-5-104 protocol via TCP port and RP 570/571 via RS-232.
Data between ipConv gateway and E.ON control center are exchanged per IEC 60870-5-101.
Background information
In Sweden, national power transmission systems operator, Svenska Kraftnät, awards Alstom Grid a turnkey contract to supply and install a 420 kV
alternating current substation between the centre of the country and its southern region. The Barkeryd substation will be
the northern connection point between Sweden’s national grid and the South West Link, a major HVDC line.
