The traction current converter station Timelkam was put into operation in July 2009.
It converts 50 Hz power supply into 16.7 Hz traction current and feeds it into the 110 kV traction current transmission network of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB).
IPCOMM developed the protocol conversion software to couple the ABB control system with the master station.
The protocol conversion software was installed on available gateways running under Windows XP.
IPCOMM provides OPC Classic clients to exchange data with an OPC DA (data access) or AE (alarm & events) server.
OPC data are converted into the protocol IEC 60870-5-104 to communicate with the master station.
In total, approximately 450 data shall be transmitted.
