The RTUs are linked to the INTOUCH control station servers via ipConvOPC
and our router ipRoute. ipConvOPC consists of OPC DA 3.0, Server and the
IEC 60870-5-104, Master protocol stack, it runs on both servers. Both servers
communicate simultaneously with all connected substations.
ipConvOPC connects 10 power stations, fitted with Siemens SICAM RTU
substation automation technology. In addition, a redundant AK1703 data collector
from SAT VA TECH is connected, which communicates with Telegyr substations.
Some more remote power stations are connected to the public telecommunications
system via ipRoute. ipRoute supplies data not only to the control
center, but also to a local SICAM RTU, which itself sends data to the control
center.
